In the first episode, which I have to say is one of the funniest episodes I've seen of this show, Seth Green guest stars as a Make a Wish kid named Buddy that was robbed of his wish in 1999 thanks to a drunken Mr. Hickey. Earl always thought Buddy had died, so he goes to Buddy's mother to make up for 10 years ago. Mindy Sterling is there as Buddy's mom to break the news that he actually hadn't died; he beat the odds to make it. When it all comes down to it, Earl promises to help Buddy make a movie about an evil squid monster. All of Camden bands together to make the movie. Randy is quite the actor, and Joy is freaking hilarious in this episode.
Episode 2 deals with Earl trying to get his parents back together with their old neighbors, the Clarks, who moved suddenly one day, after Earl and Randy tortured them. The reveal about why the Clarks left town is pretty funny, but this second episode didn't have the comedy punch that the first ep did. It's a lot of Earl and his dad buddy comedy that ends up involving more than a few bloody noses.
Overall a good hour of TV, but if you have to pick one episode over the other, definitely go with Episode 1.
