Prime Video has officially set the return date for one of its biggest global franchises.
During Amazon’s annual Upfront presentation, Prime Video confirmed that THE LORD OF THE RINGS: THE RINGS OF POWER season 3 will premiere November 11, 2026, with the epic fantasy series returning fans to Middle-earth for what promises to be its most consequential chapter yet.
The globally successful series has attracted more than 185 million viewers worldwide, making it one of Prime Video’s most powerful original franchises and a major driver of new Prime memberships.
Season 3 jumps forward several years after the events of season 2 and places viewers directly in the escalating War of the Elves and Sauron, with the Dark Lord moving closer to forging the One Ring that could finally give him the power to dominate Middle-earth.
That storyline should raise the stakes considerably for longtime Tolkien fans.
Set thousands of years before the events of The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings, THE RINGS OF POWER explores Middle-earth’s Second Age, bringing iconic kingdoms, legendary characters, and the rise of evil to the screen on an epic scale.
Prime Video says the series remains one of its highest-performing originals, with season 1 still standing as the platform’s biggest television premiere ever, while season 2 ranks among its most-watched returning seasons.
The fantasy drama is executive produced by showrunners J.D. Payne and Patrick McKay, alongside Lindsey Weber, Justin Doble, Kate Hazell, and Charlotte Brändström.
Fans can currently stream the first two seasons exclusively on Prime Video.
