Prime Video is doubling down on one of its biggest action franchises.
Ahead of Amazon’s upfront presentation, Prime Video announced that REACHER has officially been renewed for a fifth season, giving fans even more Jack Reacher before the highly anticipated fourth season has even premiered.
The early renewal speaks volumes about the continued strength of the Alan Ritchson-led action drama, which remains one of Prime Video’s most successful original series worldwide. Season 3 pulled in an impressive 54.6 million global viewers in its first 19 days, making it the streamer’s most-watched returning season since Fallout season one over the same timeframe.
Alan Ritchson will return as Jack Reacher in season 4, which adapts Lee Child’s 13th bestselling novel, Gone Tomorrow. The new season kicks off when a chance encounter with a distressed stranger on a subway spirals into a deadly conspiracy involving powerful enemies and a dangerous game that stretches far beyond a routine investigation.
Joining Ritchson for season 4 are Chris Marquette, Sydelle Noel, AGNEZ MO, Anggun, Kevin Weisman, Marc Blucas, Kevin Corrigan, and Kathleen Robertson.
“From Lee Child’s globally beloved novels to its standout on-screen adaptation, Reacher has evolved into a true powerhouse franchise,” said Peter Friedlander, Head of Global Television, Amazon MGM Studios. “The series’ ability to combine high-octane action with compelling character storytelling continues to resonate with tens of millions of viewers around the world.”
Based on Lee Child’s bestselling book series, REACHER is produced by Paramount Television Studios and Amazon MGM Studios, with Nick Santora serving as showrunner, writer, and executive producer.
Fans can currently stream the first three seasons of REACHER exclusively on Prime Video.
