‘Zip’ Getting A Second Look At NBC

NBC has handed out a cast-contingent pilot order to the Universal Media Studios/Reveille project, which was originally developed last season when it was picked up by the network as a pilot directed by Dan Attias and starring Rob Huebel.

Written by Mark Rizzo, Marc Abrams and Michael Benson, "Zip" revolves around "have nots" living in a ZIP code full of "haves."

NBC's previous regime passed on the pilot in May. When Reveille's Ben Silverman joined the network as co-chairman in June, he put the project back in development.

Rizzo, Abrams and Benson penned a new script, which is getting a cast-contingent green light. Richard Shephard is close to coming onboard to direct the new pilot, which is exec produced by Abrams and Benson. Rizzo is serving as supervising producer.
