Writer and director Nicolas Winding Refn made his 1996 feature film debut with PUSHER. This violent, edgy, yet moving cult classic established Refn as an uncompromising filmmaker of great talent and depth.
The trilogy stands as a masterful reinvention of international crime cinema, as poignantly human as it is brutally and viscerally realized. PUSHER TRILOGY reveals the humanity in even the most violent criminals and how every pusher – no matter what his status – is only one bad deal away from total ruin. The trilogy includes Pusher, Pusher II: With Blood on my Hands and Pusher III: I’m the Angel of Death.
The newly restored PUSHER TRILOGY will open in 4K at the IFC Center on 5/8 for a one week run. From there, it will be playing in select theaters across the country and Canada.
The trilogy stars Mads Mikkelsen (Riders of Justice, “Hannibal”), Kim Bodnia (F1: The Movie), Zlatko Buric (Superman), Slavko Labovic (“Son’s Will”), Peter Andersson (The Caretaker) and Anja Bajicic (The Final Act).
