Netflix has officially renewed the hit action-thriller The Night Agent for Season 4, ensuring that the high-stakes adventures of Gabriel Basso’s Peter Sutherland will continue with an all-new mission.
The renewal comes after a globe-trotting third season that saw Peter chasing stolen financial intelligence and uncovering dangerous conspiracies across multiple countries. According to series creator and showrunner Shawn Ryan, fans can expect even more twists and international intrigue when the show returns.
“It’s been a wild ride filming The Night Agent in five countries across three continents … and we’re so thrilled that the adventures of Peter Sutherland will continue into Season 4,” Ryan said. “Our writers, our cast and our crew stand ready to answer the call to bring our incredible fans even more twists, turns and thrills.”
Season 3 Finale Sets Up Season 4
The renewal follows a dramatic Season 3 finale that left Peter contemplating a break from the intense world of national security operations. After completing a dangerous assignment, Peter tells his boss, Agent Aiden Mosley (Albert Jones), that he plans to step away from work for a while.
Mosley appears supportive of the decision but hints that new opportunities could be waiting when Peter returns. In a key moment that teases the future of the series, Mosley reveals he may have found a potential partner for Peter — a storyline that creator Shawn Ryan previously described as a “launching pad for Season 4.”
A Major Hit for Netflix
Since its debut in 2023, The Night Agent has become one of Netflix’s biggest original series. The first season quickly climbed the platform’s all-time popularity charts and remains among the streamer’s most-watched titles.
Season 2 debuted at No. 1 globally, earning 13.9 million views in its first four days, while Season 3 continued the momentum by landing near the top of Netflix’s English-language TV rankings and driving renewed interest in the show’s earlier seasons.
Season 4 Production
Production for The Night Agent Season 4 is expected to take place in Los Angeles, joining several other high-profile Netflix productions filming in the city. The action-drama continues to expand its scope as Peter Sutherland’s story evolves into one of the streamer’s most successful thriller franchises.
With a new mission on the horizon and plenty of unresolved mysteries from the Season 3 finale, fans can expect the next chapter of The Night Agent to deliver even more suspense, political intrigue and global action.
