Harry Da Souza (Tom Hardy) spent the MobLand Season 2 premiere warning the Harrigans that someone was exploiting their family feud. In “Song 2,” Kat McAllister stops waiting for them to believe him. Her new operator, Frankie Cooper, attacks the people Harry is trying to protect, turning several private crises into one coordinated emergency.
Johnny Flynn’s Frankie makes a strong first impression as a man who treats violence like an entertaining problem to solve. Meanwhile, Conrad (Pierce Brosnan) receives troubling news about his health, Maeve (Helen Mirren) pursues another scheme, and Jan (Joanne Froggatt) forces Harry to consider what his work has done to their daughter. The episode ends with Harry’s loyalties being tested on every side.

Conrad Gets an Explanation He Refuses to Accept
The doctor gives Conrad a diagnosis that helps explain his increasingly reckless behavior. Changes in his brain are affecting his judgment and self-control. Conrad’s response is to threaten the doctor and demand that the evidence disappear.
It would be tempting to blame last week’s dog-track massacre entirely on his condition. That would let Conrad off far too easily. He was dangerous before this appointment. What changes now is that the people around him have even less reason to expect restraint, while Conrad has every reason to hide what he has learned.
Brosnan plays the visit with the same furious certainty Conrad brings to every confrontation. He can intimidate a person in the room, so he acts as though he can intimidate a medical finding out of existence. Harry already knows the Harrigans are vulnerable. He does not yet know how much harder Conrad may become to manage.
Jan Tells Harry What Gina Learned at Home
Harry finds Gina (Teddie Allen) living and working with Eddie Harrigan (Anson Boon). Their scheme targeting online creators confirms that Gina has moved beyond merely spending time with the wrong person. She is building a place for herself in the family business.
Harry believes he can still bring her home. Jan sees a more painful possibility: Gina grew up watching Harry solve problems for the Harrigans, and she learned from him long before Eddie entered her life. Harry thinks of himself as the person who can protect his family from this world. Jan asks him to recognize how much of that world he brought to them.
That argument gives “Song 2” its strongest scene away from the gangland plotting. Harry cannot answer Jan by fixing a witness or intimidating a rival. Hardy lets him absorb the accusation without making it look as though he fully knows what to do with it.
Jan also has a new problem she cannot see. A seemingly accidental collision introduces her to an American man calling himself Jamie, who offers her an unusually generous cash settlement. He is Donnie, connected to Kat’s operation. Jan cuts their coffee meeting short, but he has found a way into her day without Harry knowing.
Maeve Makes Plans While Seraphina Passes Information
Maeve persuades Conrad to invite Seraphina (Mandeep Dhillon) to dinner under the guise of repairing the family relationship. Seraphina is suspicious enough to tell her contact on Kat’s side about the invitation. That contact is Donnie, who later warns her to stay away.
Maeve’s behavior gives Seraphina reason to worry. She summons a veterinarian to examine Conrad’s dogs, then steers the conversation toward poison. The episode strongly suggests she is preparing a trap, though it does not confirm exactly whom she intends to target. Maeve’s separate demand that Eddie stop seeing Gina adds another strain to an already dangerous evening.
The two women are making moves against each other while Conrad believes he is arranging a family dinner. Kat gains information from Seraphina; Maeve appears to have her own plans for the meeting. Seraphina’s absence saves her from whatever might have happened there, but it may also make Conrad more suspicious of her once the night’s other attacks begin.
Frankie Learns How to Hurt Harry
Colin Tattersall (Toby Jones) approaches Frankie with a strategy built around Harry rather than a direct assault on the Harrigans’ business. Using the historical execution of an assassin pulled apart by horses, Colin describes the people who could pull Harry in competing directions: the family he serves, the family he has made, and the associates who trust him.
It is an elaborate way to explain a cruel idea. Harry’s usefulness depends on his ability to respond to every emergency. Give him several at once, each involving someone he cares about, and even he cannot be everywhere.
Flynn makes Frankie difficult to size up. He can seem amused by Colin’s proposal one moment and capable of carrying it out the next. Colin supplies the intelligence, Kat authorizes the move, and Frankie brings the willingness to make it bloody. Their partnership feels dangerous precisely because none of them needs the Harrigans to unite before acting.
The Attacks Begin Across London
The closing sequence delivers Colin’s plan in a rush. Fergus, Paul’s nephew and a new addition to the Harrigans’ security, is shot outside a pub. Armed men move against Gina and Eddie, but Harry is watching nearby and intervenes before they can reach the couple. Another team takes Zosia.
At Bella’s home, attackers kill her guards while she is on the phone with Kevin (Paddy Considine). Frankie reaches Bella (Lara Pulver) as Conrad and Maeve wait in vain for Seraphina at the restaurant. Conrad is summoned to a telephone call that ends with a taunting “Bang.”
The quick cuts make the scope of the attack clear before anyone in the Harrigan family can understand it. Harry saves Gina and Eddie, but that success offers no reassurance about Zosia or Bella. Frankie has found the limit to Harry’s ability to keep everyone safe.
Final Verdict
“Song 2” turns the Harrigans’ internal conflict into an opportunity for an enemy who has been paying attention. The episode spends time establishing each vulnerability, then brings them together in a tense final sequence.
Flynn gives the season an unpredictable new threat, while the scenes between Hardy and Froggatt make Harry’s family troubles as consequential as the criminal ones. Conrad’s diagnosis and Maeve’s suspected poison plot add plenty to track, but the episode keeps returning to one clear idea: Harry cannot repair every part of his life at once.
Bella’s unresolved fate is an effective cliffhanger. The harder question for next week is how Harry chooses where to go first.
Frankie turns the Harrigans’ fractured loyalties into a coordinated attack, while Jan gives Harry a painful reason to question the life he keeps defending.

Ending Explained: What Happens to Bella, Zosia and Fergus?
Frankie’s operation strikes several people connected to Harry at once. Fergus is shot outside the pub. Zosia is taken. Harry stops the attackers who come for Gina and Eddie. At Bella’s home, her security is overwhelmed and Frankie reaches her while Kevin is still trying to understand what is happening over the phone.
The episode does not confirm that Bella is dead. Frankie has her at gunpoint, but “Song 2” cuts away without clearly resolving her fate. Conrad receives the “Bang” call at roughly the same time, turning the attack into a message for the Harrigans as well as a threat to Bella.
Colin’s “four horses” comparison explains the purpose of the coordinated strikes. Frankie is attacking relationships that hold Harry’s divided life together. Harry can save Gina and Eddie in the moment, but Zosia remains in enemy hands, Bella is in immediate danger, and Fergus has been shot. Kat’s side has forced the fixer into exactly the situation he warned the Harrigans was coming.
The episode leaves Bella’s fate unresolved after Frankie corners her at gunpoint.
