The first official teaser trailer for Messi and the Giants has arrived, offering a look at the animated sports fantasy series executive produced by Lionel Messi. Disney unveiled the footage at San Diego Comic-Con Málaga on October 2. The series is coming to Disney+ globally in summer 2027 and will also air on Disney Channel in the United States.
The teaser introduces the show’s original theme song, “Vamos, Vamos, Vamos,” recorded by Argentine artist Luck Ra. Argentine actor Milo Burgess-Webb will voice Leo, the 12-year-old at the center of the story.
What Is Messi And The Giants About?
Leo becomes trapped in Iko, an alternate reality whose realms are ruled by giants. His route home takes him through soccer-like battles fought with powerful orbs. Other players can use the world’s code powers to boost their abilities, but Leo must rely on his skill, teamwork and determination as he tries to defeat the giants and restore Iko.
The series draws on the underdog spirit associated with Messi while building its own fantasy world around Leo. At the Málaga presentation, executive producers Lacey Stanton and Bryan Korn, director Dan Creteur and Sony Music Vision’s Sergi Reitg introduced the mythology, characters and music behind the show.
When Does Messi And The Giants Premiere?
Messi and the Giants is scheduled to premiere globally on Disney+ in summer 2027. It will also air on Disney Channel in the U.S. An exact premiere date has not been announced.
Sony Pictures Television, Sony Music Vision and Messi are among the executive producers, with animation by Atlantis Animation. Watch the official teaser trailer above.
