What Is MAYDAY About?
In MAYDAY, Ryan Reynolds stars as Lieutenant Troy “Assassin” Kelly, a hotshot U.S. Navy pilot sent on a top-secret mission deep inside Russian territory during the height of the Cold War.
When the mission goes disastrously wrong, Troy is stranded behind enemy lines with little hope of rescue. His fortunes change when he’s discovered by Nikolai Ustinov (Kenneth Branagh), a gruff former KGB agent who unexpectedly has a deep appreciation for American culture.
What begins as an uneasy alliance soon develops into an unexpected friendship as the pair attempt to survive impossible odds while finding common ground in the unlikeliest of circumstances.
