Maximum Pleasure Guaranteed has been renewed for Season 2 at Apple TV. The darkly comedic thriller from creator and showrunner David J. Rosen stars Tatiana Maslany and Jake Johnson, with the complete first season now available to stream globally.

The renewal gives Rosen another season to continue the series, which follows Maslany’s Paula as a suspected crime pulls her into an investigation involving blackmail, murder and youth soccer. Murray Bartlett, Dolly De Leon, Brandon Flynn and Jessy Hodges are also part of the first-season ensemble.

Apple describes the series as a critically acclaimed thriller and notes that it has earned Rotten Tomatoes’ Certified Fresh designation. The renewal announcement also highlights praise for its mix of comedy and suspense and Maslany’s central performance.

Paula is a newly divorced mother dealing with a custody battle and a crisis of identity when she becomes convinced she has witnessed a crime. Rather than let the suspicion go, she starts investigating for herself.

That decision takes her into an increasingly dangerous situation. Her search could expose a larger conspiracy, while also offering a way to rebuild her family and recover a sense of who she is. The premise brings a crime thriller into collision with the pressures of parenting and the everyday world of youth soccer.
