Paramount+ has released the official promo and photos for Lioness Season 3 Episode 4, “Murder Hornets,” giving viewers a first look at what’s ahead for Joe McNamara (Zoe Saldaña) and the team when the new episode premieres Sunday, August 23.

Following the revelations of “The Bear Is Infected,” Joe is moving forward with a dangerous operation designed to expose the people connected to the Russian intelligence network. With Oleksandra’s information opening the door to a much larger conspiracy, the CIA now has to determine who can be trusted—and how far the network reaches.

The official synopsis for “Murder Hornets” teases a race against time: “A frantic hunt is launched as the team races against time; at home, Neal struggles with growing fears.”

That second part may prove just as important as the mission itself. After the attack on the McNamara home, Neal (Dave Annable) and Joe’s daughters are no longer safely separated from her work. Episode 3 ended with Joe continuing the mission despite her family’s pleas for her to walk away, and the new photos confirm that Joe and Neal’s increasingly complicated home life remains part of the story.

Elsewhere, the Episode 4 photos bring Cruz Manuelos (Laysla De Oliveira) back together with members of the tactical team, while Morgan Freeman returns as Secretary of State Edwin Mullins.

The title “Murder Hornets” also appears to build directly on Oleksandra’s warning in Episode 3. Her plan was designed to disturb the Russian intelligence network and watch who reacts once the pressure begins. Now that Joe has helped shake the nest, Episode 4 may reveal exactly what comes flying out.
