A Doctor to Die For: The Sarah Harris Story

A Doctor to Die For: The Sarah Harris Story is based on a true story and stars Siobhan Williams as Sarah, a young woman who becomes entangled in a dangerous relationship with middle-aged surgeon Dr. James Ryan, played by Luke Macfarlane. As Ryan secretly supplies Sarah with surgical-grade drugs meant to keep her compliant and submissive, her life begins to spiral. When tragedy strikes, Sarah’s mother and sister start looking into the doctor and uncover disturbing truths.

The movie comes from Rohm Feifer Entertainment and Kahn Power Pictures. Macfarlane’s casting gives the premiere a recognizable face, while Williams carries a story built around coercion, control and the people determined to uncover what happened to Sarah.

Matthew Morrison Stars in The Monster She Married

On October 10, Lifetime premieres The Monster She Married, based on John Griffiths’ book Fatal Prescription: A Doctor Without Remorse. Matthew Morrison plays Joseph, a man trusted by Shelley Charalambous (Molly Saunders) since she was a teenager and once served as her pediatrician.

Years later, Shelley has built a life with Joseph while enduring the manipulation and abuse that kept her trapped. When another teenage patient is murdered shortly before she is set to testify against him, Shelley is forced to confront the truth about the marriage she has spent years avoiding. It is a particularly dark premise for the Lifetime slate and one that puts Saunders’ character at the center of a story about breaking silence and taking back control.

Sins of an Amish Husband Brings a Book-Based Mystery

Additional casting and story details have not yet been announced.

Judy Reyes Returns Home in Secrets of Mercy Hospital

The slate closes October 24 with Secrets of Mercy Hospital. Judy Reyes executive produces and stars as Major Kendra Williams, a battle-hardened Army nurse who returns to the working-class town she left as a teenager for her estranged mother’s funeral. After helping deliver a baby during a roadside emergency, Kendra is drawn into the severely understaffed maternity and neonatal units at Mercy Hospital.

Her return forces her to confront the secret of the daughter she gave birth to and left behind at 18. Kendra also finds herself working alongside her former best friend, who is now married to Kendra’s first love, Vaughn Maddox (Tahmoh Penikett). The film positions Kendra’s professional skill against unresolved grief, guilt and a hometown full of unfinished relationships, with healing and a possible second chance at the center of its story.
