de la Fuente has certainly had a busy year. His work continues to show his versatility as both a comedic and dramatic actor. He had a recurring role on Lifetime’s “Side Order of Life” and as Aaron the boyfriend of Kyle Lendo on CBS’s “The Class.” He guested on USA’s PSYCH and ABC’S “Ugly Betty.” Most recently, he became one of the newest celebrities to perform on ABC’s “Dancing with the Stars,” where he was seen burning up the television screen with dance partner, two-time winner Cheryl Burke.
Late last year, he starred in Univision’s “Como Ama Una Mujer” (How a Women Loves), executive produced by Jennifer Lopez. The five-hour musical, drama, miniseries has some J.Lo autobiographical elements, and even though she did not act in the miniseries, she appeared at the end of each episode and sang one of her songs from her new album, “Como Ama una Mujer.”
de la Fuente was the first male to grace the cover of Cosmopolitan En Espanol, in the November 2006 issue. He was named one of the 50 most beautiful people by People Magazine En Espanol four times and in 1999 in the domestic People.
de la Fuente was a series regular on the CBS series “Family Law,” the NBC series “Gated Community” and the UPN show “Bad Girls Guide.” He had recurring roles on UPN’s “One on One,” CBS’s “CSI: Miami” and NBC’s ‘Hidden Hills.” On ABC, he guest starred as Kelly Ripa’s love interest on “Hope and Faith.” He played an AFI agent on “Threat Matrix” and co-starred opposite Kim Delaney in the made for TV movie “Infidelity.” He was a series lead on the episodic “Reyes Y Rey” for Sony/Telemundo.
He executive produced and starred in the foreign film ‘El Nominado,” which was chosen as one of the films to be showcased at the New York Latin Film Festival, Los Angeles Film Festival, Miami and San Diego Latin Film Festivals where he was named one of the top ten actors to watch. de la Fuente’s first film, “Driven,” where he co-starred opposite Sylvester Stallone, opened number one at the box office. He also starred opposite John Travolta and Samuel L. Jackson in the hit movie “Basic” and “Vampiros Los Muertos” opposite Jon Bon Jovi. More recent films include “Once Upon a Wedding” opposite Esai Morales and “Suenos” opposite John Leguizamo.
Fluent in both English and Spanish, de la Fuente is an adventurous spirit and an avid sportsman. He enjoys tennis, boxing, skiing, golfing and weight training. In 1996, he received his pilot’s license. He is a First Lieutenant in the Chilean Air Force Reserve and a member of “Halcones,” the High Aerobatics team.
de la Fuente resides in Los Angeles with his wife, Angelica Castro, and their daughter.
