Hulu has officially renewed its hit original comedy series Chad Powers for a second season, with Glen Powell set to return as the charismatic and hilariously unconventional title character. The breakout series, inspired by the viral Eli’s Places segment from ESPN and Omaha Productions—where Eli Manning donned prosthetics to secretly join a walk-on tryout at Penn State—continues to expand its comedic universe.
Season one introduced viewers to hotshot quarterback Russ Holliday, played by Powell, whose once-promising football career imploded after a disastrous mistake eight years earlier. Determined to reclaim his dreams, Russ reinvents himself as Chad Powers, an eccentric but undeniably talented walk-on who shakes up the struggling South Georgia Catfish.
The first season stars Glen Powell alongside Perry Mattfeld (Ricky), Quentin Plair (Coach Byrd), Wynn Everett (Tricia Yeager), Frankie A. Rodriguez (Danny), and Steve Zahn (Coach Jake Hudson).
Chad Powers comes from co-creators Glen Powell and Michael Waldron. Executive producers for season one include Powell, Waldron, Eli Manning, Peyton Manning, Jamie Horowitz, Ben Brown, Burke Magnus, Brian Lockhart, Kati Fernandez, Adam Fasullo, Luvh Rakhe, and Tony Yacenda. The series is produced by 20th Television.
Season one, which premiered earlier this fall, is now available to stream on Hulu, Hulu on Disney+ for bundle subscribers in the U.S., and on Disney+ internationally.
With Powell officially back for Season 2, fans can expect even more disguises, more chaos, and more unexpected gridiron heart from the man behind the myth — Chad Powers.
