HBO has released the official trailer for Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, and it’s already making history. The highly anticipated series racked up more than 277 million organic views within its first 48 hours, becoming the most-watched trailer in HBO and HBO Max history and more than doubling the previous record.
The massive response highlights the global excitement surrounding the new Harry Potter HBO series, which is set to debut Christmas 2026 on HBO and stream exclusively on HBO Max.
Based on J.K. Rowling’s beloved books, the series will reintroduce audiences to the story of Harry Potter, a seemingly ordinary boy who discovers on his 11th birthday that he has been accepted into Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. As Harry enters a world of magic, friendship, and adventure, he also begins to uncover the dangerous truth about his past and the dark forces that threaten his future.
