FX Orders Limited Series THE MARRIAGE PLOT Starring Sadie Sink

FX is headed back into the world of literary adaptations with THE MARRIAGE PLOT, a new limited series based on the acclaimed novel by Jeffrey Eugenides. The project has officially received a series order for FX and Hulu, with Sadie Sink (Stranger ThingsThe Whale) attached to star and executive produce.

The series comes from writer and executive producer Will Arbery (SuccessionSeven Sisters) and will be directed and executive produced by Hiro Murai (AtlantaWidow’s Bay). The adaptation is based on Eugenides’ award-winning 2011 novel, which explored love, identity, and the challenges of adulthood through the lives of three recent college graduates.

THE MARRIAGE PLOT follows three young adults caught in an intense love triangle as they attempt to reconcile their romantic ideals with the realities of life after college. As they navigate relationships, personal ambitions, and major life decisions, each must confront difficult questions about love, identity, and the future they imagined for themselves.

The Marriage Plot is a perfect fit for FX: ambitious, character-driven storytelling that offers another great opportunity to partner with exceptional artists,” said Gina Balian, President of FX Entertainment. “We look forward to building on our partnerships with Will and Hiro, both of whom are extraordinary talents who we are proud to work with again.”

The limited series continues FX’s strong relationship with both Arbery and Murai, while also marking another high-profile television role for Sink following the success of Stranger Things and her acclaimed film work.

Executive producers include Arbery, Murai, Steven Prinz and Rachel Jacobs for Borderless Pictures, Michael Costigan and Jason Bateman for Aggregate Films, Jeffrey Eugenides, Sadie Sink, Carver Karaszewski, and Claudia Shin for Chum Films. Yiyi Huang serves as producer.

THE MARRIAGE PLOT is produced by A24 and FX Productions.
