Blair Underwood is officially checking into Westside Hospital — and Dr. Amy Larsen may not be thrilled about what he brings with him.
FOX has released the full Doc Season 3 trailer and a new collection of cast photos, offering a fresh look at Underwood’s expanded role as Dr. Ben Grant alongside Molly Parker’s Dr. Amy Larsen.
Underwood made his Doc debut during the Season 2 finale, but Season 3 promotes him to series regular and puts Ben directly into Amy’s professional — and increasingly complicated personal — life. The new footage reveals Ben has joined Westside’s staff, while Amy begins experiencing flashes of the relationship the two apparently shared during the eight years she can no longer remember.
The new season will also introduce four interns to Westside as Amy continues trying to recover pieces of the eight years of her life erased by her accident.
Doc Season 3 premieres Tuesday, September 22 at 9:00 PM ET/PT on FOX. The new season received a full 22-episode order after FOX described Doc as its largest scripted multiplatform audience of the season.

Season 3 picks up with Amy still trying to reconcile the woman she remembers being with everything she’s learned about the life she lived during her missing eight years.
And Ben Grant may hold another major piece of that puzzle.
The trailer shows Ben settling into Westside with plenty of confidence. At one point, he tells the hospital board that Amy is no longer a draw in her current capacity and makes his intentions clear: he has come to take over the department.
Professionally, that’s already enough to put him on a collision course with Amy.
Their personal history could be even more complicated.
First Look At Blair Underwood In Doc Season 3
Blair Underwood joins Doc Season 3 as series regular Dr. Ben Grant, a trauma and cardiothoracic surgeon introduced during the Season 2 finale.
Ben helped perform the surgery that saved Amy’s life, but the finale also revealed something much more intriguing: Amy and Ben knew each other during the eight years she can no longer remember.
Season 3 is going to start pulling at that thread.
The trailer shows Amy experiencing flashes of memories involving Ben. The problem is that Ben isn’t exactly volunteering the truth about their past.
When Amy questions their relationship, Ben insists they barely know each other — something the returning memories increasingly suggest isn’t true.
Executive producers Barbie Kligman and Hank Steinberg have also teased a change in the way Amy’s memories will work this season. Rather than primarily being triggered as warning signs, her returning memories will be tied more closely to emotionally significant moments from her past, including her relationships with Ben, Jake Heller and Michael Hamda.
That could make Amy’s continuing recovery considerably more emotionally complicated than simply remembering missing facts about her life.
Four New Interns Are Coming To Westside
Ben isn’t the only newcomer.
Season 3 introduces four new interns, with Amy and Dr. Sonya Maitra (Anya Banerjee) serving as co-chief residents responsible for overseeing the new class.
Barrett Carnahan plays Graham Barker, a confident and ambitious intern determined to prove he’s more than the privileged son of one of Westside’s wealthy donors.
Raffa Virago plays Nikki De Silva, an intense overachiever who is sharp and quick-witted.
Cecilia Lee plays Ruth Chen, an intelligent and empathetic intern whose eagerness can sometimes turn to frazzlement when she’s overwhelmed.
And Kolton Stewart plays Kyle Ferguson, the youngest member of the group. Homeschooled and highly intelligent, Kyle enters Westside as something of a fish out of water.
The newcomers give Doc another way to evolve in Season 3. Amy began the series fighting simply to prove that she could still practice medicine after losing eight years of memories. Now she’ll be responsible for helping train doctors who are only beginning their careers.

FOX has also released new photos ahead of Season 3, providing a first look at the returning Westside team and some of the characters joining the hospital this fall.
The returning ensemble is led by Molly Parker as Dr. Amy Larsen, alongside Omar Metwally as Dr. Michael Hamda, Amirah Vann as Dr. Gina Walker, Jon Ecker as Dr. Jake Heller, Anya Banerjee as Dr. Sonya Maitra and Patrick Walker as Dr. TJ Coleman.
Underwood joins that group as Ben, while Carnahan, Virago, Lee and Stewart recur as Westside’s new interns.
What’s Next For Amy Larsen In Season 3?
Amy’s memory remains at the center of Doc.
The series began after a traumatic brain injury erased the previous eight years of her life, leaving Amy without memories of patients she’d treated, relationships she’d formed and the events that transformed both her career and family.
By Season 3, Amy has rebuilt a considerable portion of that life.
But Ben’s arrival suggests there are still important pieces of her past waiting to be uncovered.
His connection to Amy adds another layer to an already complicated romantic history involving Jake and her ex-husband Michael, while his professional ambitions could create just as much trouble inside Westside.
And now Amy has another challenge: mentoring Westside’s newest doctors while continuing to discover things about her own past.
Doc Returns With A Full 22-Episode Season
FOX isn’t going small with Season 3.
The network renewed Doc for another 22 episodes, matching the order given to Season 2. At the time of the renewal, FOX Television Network President Michael Thorn called the series a breakout and said it had delivered the network’s largest scripted multiplatform audience of the season, with momentum across FOX, Hulu, Netflix and international markets.
The series is co-produced by Sony Pictures Television and FOX Entertainment Studios, with Barbie Kligman and Hank Steinberg serving as showrunners and executive producers. Erwin Stoff and Judith McCreary also executive produce.
Doc is inspired by a true story and based on the Italian series Doc — Nelle tue mani.

Doc Season 3 premieres Tuesday, September 22, 2026 at 9:00 PM ET/PT on FOX.
New episodes will also be available to stream the following day on Hulu.
Between Ben’s mysterious connection to Amy, a new group of interns and another 22 episodes to uncover more of Amy Larsen’s missing past, Westside Hospital has plenty of unfinished business waiting when Doc returns.
