Die Hard 2 and Die Hard with a Vengeance are getting their first 4K Ultra HD disc releases on December 1, 2026. The two sequels will arrive alongside a new Die Hard SteelBook, giving fans matching physical editions of John McClane’s first three adventures in time for the holidays.
Bruce Willis stars as McClane throughout the trilogy. The original film’s Christmas Eve confrontation with Hans Gruber (Alan Rickman) made the New York detective an action icon; the sequels send him into crises at a Washington, D.C.-area airport and across New York City.

Which Die Hard Movies Are Getting 4K SteelBooks?
All three films are being released as separate SteelBooks. This is an especially notable upgrade for collectors of Die Hard 2 and Die Hard with a Vengeance, which are making their 4K Ultra HD physical-media debuts. The original Die Hard has previously been released on 4K disc.
In Die Hard, McClane travels to Los Angeles to spend Christmas with his estranged wife Holly (Bonnie Bedelia), only to find himself fighting Gruber’s armed crew inside Nakatomi Plaza. Die Hard 2 brings another holiday emergency when mercenaries seize control of an airport’s communications and put arriving planes in danger.
Die Hard with a Vengeance takes the action to Manhattan. Jeremy Irons plays a bomber who forces McClane into a dangerous game across the city, while Samuel L. Jackson joins Willis as the unlikely partner caught up in the escalating threats.
What About the Other Die Hard Movies?
The December 1 SteelBook announcement covers the first three films. Separately, Die Hard, Live Free or Die Hard and A Good Day to Die Hard will receive new artwork at digital retailers. That artwork update does not announce new 4K disc editions of the fourth and fifth movies.
The three 4K Ultra HD SteelBooks arrive December 1, 2026. The physical editions include a 4K disc, Blu-ray disc and digital code; 4K digital editions are also listed for the same date. Pricing and retailer links were not included in the announcement.
