Crystal Lake is calling again.
Peacock has released the official trailer, key art and new images for Crystal Lake, the highly anticipated Friday the 13th prequel series starring Linda Cardellini as Pamela “Pam” Voorhees.
Produced by A24, the eight-episode horror drama premieres with all episodes Thursday, October 15, 2026 on Peacock, bringing audiences back to Crystal Lake before Jason Voorhees became one of horror’s most recognizable killers.
Crystal Lake Trailer Explores Pamela Voorhees Before Friday the 13th
Rather than simply retelling Jason’s story, Crystal Lake puts his mother at the center of the mystery.
Cardellini stars as Pam Voorhees, a single mother still consumed by grief nearly a year after her young and sickly son Jason drowned in the town lake. Pam has been unable to move beyond the tragedy when two strangers unexpectedly arrive at her door and begin digging into her past.
Their questions set off a disturbing chain of events throughout Crystal Lake, forcing the people who live there to confront an increasingly unsettling question: Who exactly is Pam Voorhees?
Callum Vinson appears as the young Jason Voorhees, with William Catlett, Devin Kessler, Cameron Scoggins and Gwendolyn Sundstrom joining Cardellini among the series regulars.

Is Jason Voorhees in Crystal Lake?
Yes. Callum Vinson plays the young Jason Voorhees in Crystal Lake, although the prequel primarily centers on his mother, Pamela Voorhees. The series takes place before Jason becomes the masked killer associated with the later Friday the 13th movies, exploring his childhood, his drowning and the events that begin transforming Crystal Lake into the franchise’s infamous setting.
A New Chapter in the Friday the 13th Story
Crystal Lake comes from creator, writer and showrunner Brad Caleb Kane, whose credits include It: Welcome to Derry, Tokyo Vice and Warrior. Kane also serves as an executive producer.
The prequel offers an opportunity to explore Pamela as something more complicated than the character horror audiences eventually came to know through the Friday the 13th franchise. By beginning with a grieving mother and the death of her son, the series can trace the events that transform Crystal Lake into the place horror fans know all too well.
Michael Lennox directs Episodes 1 through 3, Celine Held and Logan George direct Episodes 4 through 6, and Quyen Tran directs Episodes 7 and 8.
