Nicolas Cage is getting a double dose of 4K Ultra HD love just in time for the holidays. Con Air and National Treasure, two very different but equally essential stops on Cage’s action-movie résumé, arrive on 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray SteelBook on November 10.
The releases give collectors a high-altitude ’90s action classic and a family-friendly historical adventure in matching premium packaging. Both films have been restored in 4K with Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos, putting every explosion, chase and absurdly satisfying Nicolas Cage declaration back on the home-theater runway.
Con Air Returns to 4K Ultra HD SteelBook
Directed by Simon West and produced by Jerry Bruckheimer, Con Air remains one of the purest artifacts of big, loud 1990s studio action. Cage plays newly paroled former U.S. Army Ranger Cameron Poe, who finds himself trapped aboard a prison transport plane after a collection of violent criminals seizes control.
John Malkovich, John Cusack, Steve Buscemi and Dave Chappelle join Cage in the R-rated action favorite, which earned Academy Award nominations for Best Sound and Best Original Song. The limited-edition 4K Ultra HD SteelBook includes the 4K disc, a Blu-ray disc with the bonus features “A View from Above” and “The Destruction of Las Vegas,” plus a digital code.
Con Air previously arrived on 4K Ultra HD Digital in 2025, but November 10 marks the first limited-edition 4K SteelBook release for physical-media collectors.
National Treasure Gets 4K Ultra HD SteelBook and Digital Debut
Seven years after Con Air, Cage and Bruckheimer took the action formula in a more family-friendly direction with National Treasure. Directed by Jon Turteltaub, the PG adventure follows historian and cryptologist Benjamin Franklin Gates as he races to solve a treasure mystery tied to a map hidden on the back of the Declaration of Independence.
It is a film built for the kind of repeat viewing that makes a physical release feel right: clues, secret rooms, chases and a premise that remains delightfully committed to its own enormous idea. The new 4K Ultra HD SteelBook includes a 4K UHD commentary track with Turteltaub and co-star Justin Bartha. National Treasure also becomes available on 4K Ultra HD Digital on November 10.
