Confidently striding into its third season, USA Network’s drama series COLONY has gone from a simple tale of a husband and wife seeking to protect their children during an alien occupation and morphed into a tale of full blown resistance against a vastly superior alien enemy with a multitude of weapons at its disposal. As seen in Season 2, the illusion that the Hosts were invincible was pierced as the Resistance strategically fought back, destroying one of the Hosts’ ships and capturing a Host and the powerful gauntlet that it wore. Suddenly, there was hope that maybe — just maybe — there was a way to regain control of the planet and strike back against the alien Hosts.

Season 2 ended with Will (Josh Holloway) and Katie (Sarah Wayne Caklies) and their three children fleeing the Los Angeles bloc with Snyder (Peter Jacobson) and the gauntlet, with Bouussard (Tory Kittles) remaining behind to continue the good fight. The Bowmans’ plan is to find the Resistance and turn over the gauntlet and see how it could be used to fight off their alien overlords.

Season 3 picks up with the Bowmans cautiously living their lives outside the L.A. bloc, seemingly content to remain off the radar. But as all well-intentioned plans tend to go, something happens to cause that idyllic life to implode and they are on the run once again.

As for Snyder, well, he is with the Bowmans for better or for worse as that is the choice he made.

Yet Boussard seems uniquely to be in a similar situation — untethered and uncertain just what to do. How does the solitary soldier find a way to be the weapon he has been trained to be without a team to support him?

So life outside the bloc and inside the bloc tend to mirror each other in crucial ways. The issue of who to trust remains. The issue of limited resources remains. The issue of aliens better equipped and seemingly omnipresent remains. So just what can the Bowmans really do? What can Snyder do to aid them? What can Boussard really do on his own while still with enemy territory? Is there any true Resistance group to be found and if so, how and where?

To see how the Bowmans and Snyder fare on the outside and how Boussard fares back on the inside of the bloc, be sure to tune in for the tension-filled and shocking Season 3 premiere of COLONY on Wednesday, May 2nd at 10:00 p.m. on USA Network.
