At the same time, Detective Kevin Ryan has a far more personal emergency to deal with as his wife, Jenny, unexpectedly goes into labor.
Written by David Amann and directed by Paul Holahan, “Under Fire” expertly balances an intense murder investigation with the lighter, character-driven moments that have long defined the series. As Castle and Beckett race to stop the elusive arsonist before another fire claims more lives, Ryan finds himself desperately trying to make it to the hospital for the birth of his first child. The episode seamlessly blends suspense, humor, and heartfelt emotion, making it one of Season 6’s most entertaining hours.
Led by Nathan Fillion and Stana Katic, the episode also features standout guest appearances from Nicholas Bishop as Fire Chief Miller, Wendy Davis as FDNY Lieutenant Delia Burton, and Juliana Dever—real-life wife of series star Seamus Dever—returning as Jenny Ryan.
