William Ferrell & Adam McKay Land Baseball Series At HBO
HBO has picked up a pilot about a baseball player-turned-gym teacher from William Ferrell and Adam McKay's Gary Sanchez Productions. The initial deal is for six episodes.
Written by Jody Hill, Ben Best and Danny McBride, the untitled project, revolves around Kenny Powers (McBride), a burned-out professional baseball pitcher who returns to his hometown in the South and the only job he can land is that of as a substitute gym teacher.
Katy Mixon, John Hawkes and Andrew Daly all co-starred in the pilot, which was directed by Jody Hill. The untitled project will be filmed in North Carolina.
