The Flash Season 1 Episode 1, “Pilot,” introduces Barry Allen’s origin story as a tragic past and a life-changing accident collide—turning him into Central City’s newest hero.
The Flash kicks off with a powerful and emotional premiere as Barry Allen’s journey begins with the mystery that changed his life forever. After witnessing his mother’s murder as a child and seeing his father wrongfully imprisoned, Barry grows up determined to uncover the truth—no matter where it leads.
Years later, a groundbreaking experiment at S.T.A.R. Labs goes catastrophically wrong, triggering a massive explosion that creates a storm across Central City. When Barry is struck by lightning during the event, his life is forever altered.
After waking from a coma months later, Barry discovers he now possesses incredible speed—abilities that allow him to move faster than anyone ever thought possible. But he quickly learns he’s not alone, as others affected by the explosion begin using their powers for dangerous purposes.
Episode Plot
Barry Allen, a forensic investigator in Central City, is struck by lightning after a particle accelerator explosion and awakens from a coma with superhuman speed. As he begins to understand his new abilities, Barry sets out to stop emerging metahumans while searching for answers about his mother’s murder.
And this is only the beginning of something much bigger.
