TBS Orders A Third Season Of The Bill Engvall Show

After another highly successful run this summer, TBS has ordered a third season of its top-rated original sitcom THE BILL ENGVALL SHOW.  Bill Engvall (Bait Shop) is set to return as family counselor Bill Pearson, with Nancy Travis (Becker, The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants) back as his wife, Susan.  They are joined by returning cast members Tim Meadows (Saturday Night Live) as their neighbor and Bill’s best friend, Paul Dufrayne; Jennifer Lawrence (The Burning Plain) as their daughter Lauren; Graham Patrick Martin (The Girl Next Door) as their son Trent; and Skyler Gisondo (Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story) as their son Bryan.

THE BILL ENGVALL SHOW was created by Bill Engvall and Michael Leeson (The War of the Roses).  Engvall serves as executive producer, along with J.P. Williams (Blue Collar TV) and Mark Kunerth (Friends).  James Widdoes (Two and a Half Men) directed all the episodes from the first two seasons, while also serving as executive producer.  The series is produced by TBS.  TBS has ordered 10 episodes of the show, which will return to the network in summer 2009.

“There’s something about this cast and this show that gives you a good feeling inside, which is probably why it’s won the hearts of so many viewers,” said Michael Wright, senior vice president in charge of the Content Creation Group for TBS, TNT and TCM.  “Their dedication to continually growing the show is evident in the work, and we look forward to a new season of even funnier episodes.”

“I can’t tell you how thrilled all of us on THE BILL ENGVALL SHOW are that we’ll be back for another season on TBS,” said Engvall.  “Working so closely with people you care so dearly about and with a network that gives you such unbridled support is truly what makes this show work.”
