SYFY EMBRACES GLOBAL GAMING WITH THE LAUNCH OF SYFY GAMES

Syfy Digital remains on top of their game and at the forefront of cutting edge technology focused entertainment with the launch of Syfy Games, an online global destination for casual and Massive Multiplayer Online Games (MMOG), it was announced today by Craig Engler, SVP and GM of Syfy Digital. Launching this spring, Syfy Games, which can be directly accessed at www.syfygames.com, unveils an impressive roster of new online gaming including, War of Titans, Terminator Salvation, Rover Racer, Green Mahjong, just to name a few.

“Launching Syfy Games is the next logical evolution of our successful online gaming portfolio, which is already the number one section of Syfy.com,” said Engler. “We’ll be adding both casual and massively multiplayer games as well as features that let gamers around the world connect and play with one another, whether their novices or hardcore enthusiasts.”

Syfy’s gaming area has become the highest trafficked section in page views and time spent on Syfy.com since it’s inception in 2008. It continued its growth in 2009 as the second half of 2009 (July – December) was +37% in page views, +32% in page views per visit, and +36% in page views per unique vs. the first half of 2009 (January – June).

Syfy Games have partnered with global gaming companies such as Big Point Interactive and Acclaim, to expand its portfolio. MMOG’s such as Dark Orbit, Deepolis and 9 Dragons gives gaming fans a wider ranging of online games at one destination. Other specific games to Syfy properties include Ghost Wrangler, based on the hit unscripted series Ghost Hunters, Raptor Lander, based on the acclaimed, award winning series Battlestar Galactica and Star Gem, patterned after the franchise series Stargate SG-1, Stargate Atlantis and Stargate Universe. Syfy also teamed with Atari to launch its latest MMOG, Star Trek Online. This partnership created a larger marketing platform for Atari and solidified a new user base for Syfy.
