SUNNY Has Huge 3rd Season Opener

The third season of “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia” got off to a huge start with 2.3 million total viewers at 10 p.m. this past Thursday. The opening is a 62% increase over the June 2006 second season premiere (1.7 million), which was the series previous most-watched episode.

The season three premiere episode also outpaced the Season 2 premiere by 77% in adults 18-49 (1.8 million vs. 1 million) and by 140% in adults 18-34 (1.3 million vs. 527,000).

A second “Sunny” episode at 10:30 p.m. on Thursday averaged 1.9 million total viewers, including 1.4 million in 18-49 and 1 million in 18-34. Overall, the second season averaged 1.3 million viewers and 902,000 adults 18-49.
