Starz To Offer Season 2 Sneak Peek Episodes Of Crash

Starz Entertainment announced today the upcoming availability of full-episode sneak previews of “Crash,” season two on Comcast’s On Demand service and Fancast (www.fancast.com), the premiere online destination that enables users to watch, manage and find entertainment content wherever it is available.

The first episode of the new season of “Crash,” a co-production of Starz Entertainment and Lionsgate, will debut on Comcast On Demand for all VOD customers and also on Fancast beginning September 11th, while the second episode will debut on September 18th. High definition and standard definition versions of the premiere episodes of “Crash” will be available for the sneak preview where available.

The “Crash” season two early sneak preview precedes the September 18th Starz primetime premiere at 10PM ET/PT. Episodes for the entire season of “Crash” season will remain a staple in the Starz On Demand programming mix and will debut on Starz on Demand the same day they debut on Starz.

Full-length episodes of “Crash” will be made available to all Comcast digital cable customers through its signature On Demand service, and will also be available in high-definition. Additionally, the “Crash” sneak preview will be available on Fancast.com with live streaming of the episodes from anywhere in the United States.

“Early VOD and online sampling of ‘Crash’ with Comcast was a terrific success in generating interest and awareness in the first year of the series and we are very pleased to do so again with two early full episodes of season two,” said Andy Nigolian, Starz Entertainment senior vice president, affiliate sales and marketing. “The early sampling was both novel and an effective means of attracting and expanding the series’ audience for the show and we expect even more interest and usage for this sneak preview.”

Various “Crash” trailers and behind-the-scenes promotional material for the eagerly-anticipated series will also be made available On Demand and on Fancast.

Dennis Hopper (Hoosiers, Speed, “24”) reprises his role as legendary record producer Ben Cendars, just out of rehab and searching for clues surrounding a personal mysterious death. Joining the cast this season are Eric Roberts (The Dark Knight, “Heroes”) as Seth, a billionaire entrepreneur, who plans to give LA a long desired new professional football team, Dana Ashbrook (“Twin Peaks,” Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with Me, “The Kill Point”) as Jimmy, a charismatic gambler who plays fast and loose with the law; Linda Park (Jurassic Park II, “Star Trek: Enterprise”) as Maggie, a children’s book author who writes of a joyful life but has trouble living it; Jake McLaughlin (In the Valley of Elah) as Bo, a former high school pitching ace and shoo-in for the big league, but derailed by career ending injury; Tess Harper (No Country for Old Men, Tender Mercies) as his mother Wendy, a middle-class San Fernando Valley shop-owner forever reliving Bo’s glory days; and Julie Warner (Doc Hollywood, “Nip/Tuck”) as Andrea, an ambitious and manipulative right hand woman to Seth.

Returning cast members are Ross McCall (“Band of Brothers,” “CSI: NY”) as former LAPD cop Kenny Battaglia, now a strip mall security guard; Jocko Sims (Jarhead, Dreamgirls) as Anthony, Ben’s former driver and protegee, whom Ben turns to for help in his search; and Moran Atias (You Don’t Mess with the Zohan) as Inez, who’s forsaken stripping and is making serious cash working as a hostess at an exclusive men’s club.

Headed by executive producer Ira Steven Behr (“The 4400,” “Star Trek: Deep Space Nine”), the creative team for season two includes executive producer James DeMonaco (Assault on Precinct 13, The Negotiator), as well as executive producers Paul Haggis and Bob Yari, and co-executive producers Bobby Moresco, Tom Nunan, Don Cheadle, Mark Harris, Jorg Westercamp and Thomas Becker, all of whom were key members of the Oscar((R))-winning movie Crash. Glen Mazzara is consulting producer. New this year with Behr and DeMonaco are supervising producers Todd Harthan (“The Kill Point”) and Elizabeth Benjamin (“Bones”), consulting producer Devon Shepard (“Weeds”), and executive story editor Jennifer Schuur (“Big Love”). Lester Berman (Superman) is producer.

Set in Los Angeles, the series will continue to focus on an ensemble cast of characters. Season two will revolve around the intersecting lives of Angelenos from different social strata as they seek their own versions of fulfillment.
