Today, Showtime Networks announced that Amazon and Google are the newest platforms to launch the SHOWTIME stand-alone streaming service available on Amazon Fire devices including Fire tablets, Fire TV, Fire TV stick, and Android devices, including Android phones and tablets and Android TV. SHOWTIME has also added Android, iOS and web Chrome browser support for Chromecast, as well as other Google Cast-enabled streaming devices. The arrival of SHOWTIME on Amazon, Android and Cast devices is in advance of the highly-anticipated season premieres of the Emmy® and Golden Globe®-winning series HOMELAND and the Golden Globe-winning series THE AFFAIR this Sunday, October 4th. Amazon and Android users are able to subscribe to SHOWTIME through the SHOWTIME app anywhere in the U.S., for one monthly price of $10.99, and new subscribers will be offered a 30-day free trial at sign-up. SHOWTIME is the only premium streaming service to offer live East and West Coast feeds through all of its internet distributors. With SHOWTIME, consumers have unlimited on demand access to every season of award-winning SHOWTIME original series, and hundreds of hours of movies, documentary and sports programming. Subscribers can also access the site’s music makers section which featuresdocumentaries from some of the biggest artists in the industry including David Bowie, The Who, Jimi Hendrix, One Direction, Nas, Green Day, Billy Joel and The Rolling Stones, among many others.
Once consumers sign up for the SHOWTIME stand-alone streaming service, they can watch across all supported devices no matter how they subscribed. Amazon users can download the SHOWTIME app from the Amazon Appstore and subscribe directly to watch programming on their Fire tablets, Fire TV and Fire TV Stick devices. Android users will be able to download the SHOWTIME app in the Google Play Store and subscribe to SHOWTIME directly on their Android tablets, phones or TVs. SHOWTIME subscribers can also opt to watch programming through Chromecast or other Google Cast-enabled streaming devices.
In addition to today’s announced platforms, SHOWTIME is currently available to subscribers via cable, DBS and telco providers and as a stand-alone, commercial-free streaming service through Apple® and Roku, Inc.’s Roku® players and Roku TV™ models. Subscribers can also watch on their computers at www.showtime.com. Consumers can also subscribe to SHOWTIME via Sony Network Entertainment International LLC’s PlayStation® Vue and through Hulu.
