When we left Betty, she was torn between two men (Henry and Gio) and by the time we return to the series, she’s made her decision (don’t worry, ABC, I won’t spoil it). In other stories, Wilhelmina is wreaking havoc on Mode and Daniel is thrown into a tizzy. Ignacio has decided to join the work force once again, working for Lindsay Lohan’s character. Christina is still pregnant, Claire is still awesome, Justin’s my hero, and Alexis is looking a little big (Rebecca Romijn is preggers here). Amanda and Marc are two of the greatest characters ever invented. Oh, and Hilda continues to be one of the funniest parts of this show. All of the turmoil and behind the scenes stuff has not affected the show at all.
It felt like life was breathed back into the show. The jokes were quick, the storylines were fast paced. There was a lightness and humor that we haven’t seen since season 1. Betty continues to be the little go getter that we all know and love, as she tries to figure out where she stands now that Daniel isn’t in charge anymore. I just wish that someone would give her a makeover. I get the idea that she’s supposed to be ugly, but seriously, we all know that America Ferrera isn’t, and the braces are starting to bug.
ABC also made available the second and third episodes and the season premiere was no fluke. Mysteries and injuries and adultery and jealousy all in the span of 15 minutes. I checked out on Ugly Betty last season, but I’m in, I’m all in for Season 3.
