Screener Girl Checks Out The Season Premiere Of Ghost Whisperer

Ghost Whisperer

Ghost Whisperer returns to CBS tonight with a fast paced, emotional episode.  When we last left Grandview, Melinda and Jim had decided to work on having a baby, and Professor Payne made the decision to leave town to investigate some artifacts in a third world country.

In the season premiere, Melinda meets a new communicator with the spirits in the form of Jamie Kennedy.  His character, Eli, was killed in a fire and then revived.  When he starts hearing the ghost of one of his latest patients (played by Alona Tal), Melinda and Eli team up with Payne to help the spirit cross over.  Melinda also learns some frightening information about her abilities.  Mohr is really fantastic in this episode, as his Payne reveals just how much Melinda means to him.  And Jamie Kennedy was quite shocking in the episode – he was his typical funny self, but his emotional side packs a serious wallop!  I always give Jennifer Love Hewitt a hard time, but when she cries on demand – it's quite moving.  And David Conrad's Jim?  He's the perfect husband and I love him more with each new episode!

Also interesting is the fact that the Ghost Whisperer set was damaged in the back lot fire over the summer, and they used a clever story telling technique (actually have a few fires in your season opener) to cover the fact that things were ruined.

Overall another solid episode of this show that moves the storyline forward.
