Samantha Who DVD Cover

Seat42f Says: Samantha Who? was one of last year’s best new comedies, written about Samantha Newly, a mean, sarcastic woman with mean, sarcastic friends, who is hit by a car and comes out of a coma with no recollection of who she is.

Old Sam was a terrible person.  New Sam is trying to learn things in her “new” life and trying to be a better person as she does it.  Christina Applegate is brilliant in a role tailor-made for her.  Best friends Andrea (Ahn-drea, not Ann-drea, played to perfection by Jennifer Esposito) and Dena (who is kind of a stalker, played by Melissa McCarthy) act as the devil and angel sitting on her shoulders.  Sam has an on again/off again boyfriend Todd (Barry Watson) who loved her when she was evil and still harbors a crush on her, especially as she tries new things to be nicer to those around her.  Along for the ride are Sam’s parents Regina and Howard (Jean Smart and Kevin Dunn).
