Reasons Why Virtual Reality Is A Game-Changer for businesses

8 Ways How Virtual Reality is a Game-Changer for Business

Virtual reality technology has advanced further than many thought possible in a very short span of time. It has gone from an idea into a piece of tech that is now used in every sector, from gaming to medicine.

One sector that has recently adopted VR is the business sector, and even though it hasn’t been used for very long, the immense benefits are already being seen.

What is virtual reality?

In simple terms, virtual reality is a technology that creates a virtual world for people to explore and use. Whether it be an online casino, a store or an operating room, users are able to move around the space and use controls to pick up and use objects.

Product design & testing

In business, one area that benefits from VR is product design and testing. Designers are able to view what they are making in 3D in a real-world simulation and see how it looks and operates.

This has saved manufacturers a ton of time and money as they are able to do, essentially,  real-world testing before the product is manufactured.

Marketing

Nowadays, marketing methods are so similar it is hard to stand out from the crowd; you are either making TV adverts, billboards, advertising online, etc. To combat this, companies are turning to VR to create new and exciting ways to market products.

Imagine being able to test-drive a car you see in a TV advert from the comfort of your home. Or a small gardening business being able to walk you through gardens they have created instead of just showing you photos or a video? There is a big difference between looking at something and experiencing it, and VR is bridging that gap.

Customer service

VR can be used to create a space that can be filled with customer service representatives. They can then interact with customers in real-time, which not only makes the process much faster but cheaper too.

Meetings

Another simple use of VR is in a meeting setting. Being able to take clients around your factory floor or let them interact with a product on a call is highly beneficial for both parties and allows for more information sharing.

While something like a video call is still relatively effective, being able to hold meetings in a virtual environment gives you access to far more tools and features that just aren’t possible on a platform like Skype, for instance.

If you are a building company, instead of doing the typical “video walkthrough,” clients and customers can actually walk through what you are building,

Training & education

Another area that is set to change a lot with VR is training and education. If you are in the car repair or manufacturing business, for example, training an engineer on how to fix a new type of engine or gearbox can cost a lot of time and money.

Being able to use new techniques in a virtual world is also a brilliant way to lower the chance of injury and save money on parts and gear. This can also apply to new tools, and employees can test them out on different projects before deciding if they are needed or not.

Immersive shopping experiences

Considering online shopping is now the number 1 choice for many people, it is very hard for companies to stand out from the crowd, the crowd in question being the whole internet. A way to change this is to create immersive shopping experiences

Take a toy store, for example; instead of having shelves and areas for different toys, you can create a virtual world that brings these toys to life. You can have your LEGO section where everything is built out of LEGO and all of the new sets are built to scale, allowing you to walk inside them and experience it like it is a real house or vehicle.

A new world for furniture

The one problem with furniture shopping is that it is very hard to visualize how an item, whether it be a bed or a coffee table, will look in your home. With virtual reality, this problem will be a thing of the past.

Furniture manufacturers and stores can provide virtual, to-scale models of their furniture, which you can place in a virtual version of your bedroom, lounge, kitchen, etc. You will then be able to see how it fits, how it impacts the room and how it will look.

Data visualization

Finally, businesses can use virtual reality to display data in more useful ways. Instead of simply having rows upon rows of numbers and dozens of pages of graphs, you can turn that data into something that can be visualized and “touched” in a way.

This will allow for a more holistic understanding and view of the data and give businesses more insight into how they can achieve their goals.

Virtual reality is certainly changing the game for many industries, and it will no doubt have an impact on online casinos too.
