This week it seems like a bit of an unofficial crossover event between Grey’s Anatomy and Private Practice. First we have Amelia visiting Seattle Grace and now we have a gun man at Oceanside.

The drunk driver that caused the accident that killed Dell while he was rushing Mia to the hospital shows up at Oceanside looking to apologize. Pete stops him before he gets far into the office but it’s too late, Sam spots him and goes off on him. He ends up grabbing the man and pushing him against the wall. Next thing you know the man is having intense chest pains and they have to rush to save him.

This whole ordeal of saving someone that may not be worth saving in some people’s eyes brings back old memories for Sam, Addison and Naomi. Back in the day, and I mean really far back in the day, Sam and Addison worked together at the same hospital. One day there was a patient that admitted to Sam just before going into surgery that he was a child molester. Ultimately I think it’s pretty obvious how this ended. Sam did a half ass surgery on purpose and the guy died on the table. He later admits to Addison that he “played God.” Sure, what he did was wrong, but then again I can’t hardly blame him.

Meanwhile, back to present day, Amelia returns from her lightning fast trip to Seattle. She’s convinced that she wants to work at Oceanside and practically begs Naomi for a piece of the pie there. Naomi is not a big fan of the idea at first but it grows on her quickly. She ends up hiring Amelia and the rest is history. It looks like we’re stuck with McDreamy’s sister for a little while longer. I think I like her but am just not completely there yet.

While monitoring the drunk driver that killed Dell, Sam notices something strange on the guy’s heart reading. His earlier “God” moments in his career have hopefully changed him. What’s surprising, or not, is that the guy wants to die and is refusing any treatment. Later, Sam is able to talk some sense into the guy and tells him to go ahead with the surgery. It does make me wonder for a moment if Sam is being genuine. Sam tells Charlotte what he noticed on the readout and that he believes there is an aneurism  that is hidden and could kill the guy if not taken care of first.

Cooper finds out that Charlotte has been house hunting behind his back. She doesn’t like his place because it reminds her of all the trashy girls that he probably used to have there and all the bad times they’ve had there. Cooper doesn’t see it that way and still loves his bachelor pad. Cooper decides if they’re house hunting though he wants to be the one calling the shots. I guess we’ll just have to see who wins this war.

Speaking of war, Pete gets himself into a bit of a mess when he goes to his friend Gibby’s house and finds out he is running a secret, illegal operating room in the back of his house. Gibby has some deal with gangs. Tonight he’s treating a young girl that has been shot. She’s quickly going downhill and Pete wants to call 911 but the minute he pulls out the phone the girl’s boyfriend pulls a gun on him. After a tense stand-off for a moment they let Pete call for an ambulance.

Last but not least is the good ‘ole Addison-Sam-Naomi love triangle. Addison finally unloads on Addison telling her that she’s a cheater, coward, and a horrible friend. She says when she looks at her all she wants to do is slap her across the face. Naomi then tells Sam that he should’ve told her. He apologizes and they seem to connect again by putting their heads together. I really like Sam and Addison but I think Addison and Naomi will always be the better fit. Remember their steamy sex scenes the first season? I sure miss those! Naomi and Addison talk again at the end of the day and Naomi says that this is not the beginning of the end for their friendship.

Do you think this really is the beginning of the end for Addison and Naomi’s friendship? Will Naomi be able to stand the sight of these two together, ever?
