Award-winning actor Keith Carradine has joined the cast of Showtime‘s top-rated drama series DEXTER for its second season. Starring Michael C. Hall, the series follows Dexter Morgan (Hall), an incredibly likeable forensics expert for the Miami Police Department who moonlights as a serial killer. Currently in production in Los Angeles, DEXTER will premiere on Sunday, September 30th on Showtime.
In season two, Carradine plays Lt. Frank Lundy, Special Agent for the FBI who is investigating a large number of dead bodies recently found in Miami. Carradine will appear in 11 of season two’s 12 episodes. Along with Hall and Carradine, DEXTER also stars Julie Benz, Jennifer Carpenter, Erik King, C.S. Lee, Lauren Velez, David Zayas and James Remar.
Acclaimed actor Keith Carradine began his career on Broadway in the musical “Hair.” After his film debut in A Gunfight, with Kirk Douglas and Johnny Cash, he caught the eye of director Robert Altman who cast him in McCabe and Mrs. Miller, Thieves Like Us and he starred as a country and western singer in Altman’s masterpiece, Nashville, winning an Oscar for Best Song for his ballad, “I’m Easy.” The son of the late John Carradine (veteran actor and father of acting brothers David and Robert), Carradine has been in dozens of film, television and stage productions, as both leading man and character actor. His film credits include The Duellists, The Long Riders, Pretty Baby, Two Days in The Valley, A Thousand Acres and Choose Me among others. On stage, he appeared with Hume Cronyn in Foxfire and was nominated for a Tony Award in the musical The Will Rogers Follies. On television, he has appeared in numerous movies and series including recent roles in Criminal Minds and Deadwood.
DEXTER was one of the most talked about and critically lauded new series of last year. AFI named DEXTER one of its Top Ten Television shows of 2006 and lead actor Michael C. Hall was nominated for both a Golden Globe and a SAG Award for Best Actor in a Television Drama. This off-beat drama follows Dexter Morgan (Hall), an incredibly likeable forensics expert for the Miami Metro Police Department, who just happens to be a serial killer — but one with his own moral code: he only kills people who can’t otherwise be brought to justice. On that point alone, you just might find yourself on Dexter’s side, but he also happens to be incredibly charming and an all-around friendly guy.
