HGTV Green Home Giveaway 2011 Details

The fourth annual HGTV Green Home Giveaway opens for entries on Thursday, April 14, at 9 a.m. ET and runs through Thursday, June 2, at 5 p.m. ET. One lucky, randomly-selected winner of the of the home can look for- ward to living in a modern prairie-style, single-family home located in the Stapleton com- munity of Denver, an eco-progressive community created on the site of the city’s former airport. Uniquely styled and environmentally friendly, the 2,400-square-foot, custom-built home is part of a grand prize package that includes $100,000 and a 2011 GMC® Terrain®. Viewers who want an insider’s peek at the fully-furnished home can tune in to watch the HGTV Green Home 2011 special premiering on Saturday, April 16, at 8 p.m. ET/PT.

During the giveaway entry period, fans may enter once per day on HGTV.com as well as once per day on HGTV’s FrontDoor.com, or as often as they wish by regular mail. Online users can see a photo gallery and take a 360-degree tour of the home now at HGTV.com/ greenhome and HGTV Facebook and Twitter followers can get up-to-the-minute details as well.

Jamie Durie, host of the popular series The Outdoor Room with Jamie Durie, and Sabrina Soto, a certified green designer who appears in HGTV’s Real Estate Intervention, will take viewers on a visual tour of the house and its outdoor spaces during the television special. They will be joined by HGTV Green Home designer Linda Woodrum and House Planner Jack Thomasson who will share tips about the home’s green design and construction. In addition, Mommy Correspondent Heather Armstrong will take viewers on an excursion of the many family-friendly activities available in the Stapleton community.

With three bedrooms and two-and-a-half baths, the HGTV Green Home features open spaces that flow together to create an interactive environment, including a multipurpose ‘do room,’ perfect for family activities, and a dog wash in the garage. The home looks to the future with an exterior mix of hipped and cantilevered roof forms that resemble a winged structure and give an architectural nod to the site’s airport past. Constructed by Infinity Home Collection of Denver, the HGTV Green Home features construction and design elements that are known to contribute to an energy efficient, cleaner and healthier living environment.

The 2011 HGTV Green Home recently received a Platinum LEED certification–the highest rating a home can earn within the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design pro- gram. In addition, the home also received an Energy Star certification which acknowledg- es its energy efficiency.
