Alexandra Wentworth is back tonight on Starz as Elizabeth Goode, the world’s worst psychotherapist (to the stars) and I found myself shocked by how ridiculous and funny this show is! Having not watched the first season (and having since caught up because of the brilliance of the next set of episodes), I didn’t know what to expect. But Wentworth-as-Goode is just terribly self absorbed to a crazy level of comedy genius. Added bonus: her never ending string of guest stars (playing an exaggerated version of themselves) are incredibly willing to go with this semi-improvised story and they’re doing some of their best work.
Dr. Goode got engaged last season, and her impending nuptials cloud every single interaction she has. In tonight’s premiere, guest stars Macy Gray (who has a serious thing for the President of the USA) and Janeane Garofalo (who is not a big fan of technology) are at the office for sessions with the doc, but their conversation quickly reverts back to the upcoming wedding. Tori Spelling and Dean McDermott make good fun of themselves, too.
Upcoming episodes feature return visits by James Denton and Mark Cherry, as well as Jeff Probst, Andy Dick, Tate Donovan, and a slew of other great folks, not to mention a very unconventional wedding, and the STD that keeps on giving.
If you like comedy, this is the show for you!
The Head Case Season Premiere Airs On Starz Friday, March 20th at 10:00PM EST.
