FEARnet Renews HOLLISTON For Second Season

Holliston FEARnet

FEARnet, the horror and thriller cable network, announced today that it has picked up a second season of its first original scripted series, “Holliston.”  Season two of the offbeat and nostalgic ’80s-throwback horror-comedy created by Adam Green and produced by ArieScope Pictures is slated for summer 2013.

“‘Holliston‘ resonates with both genre junkies and more mainstream comedy fans alike, making our first push into original programming a successful attempt for diversifying our schedule and showing the breadth of our audience,” said Peter Block general manager and president of FEARnet. “Adam Green and Joe Lynch bring to life a truly original series perfectly fit for FEARnet.”

The returning cast joining Adam Green and Joe Lynch for season two includes: Laura Ortiz (“The Hills Have Eyes,” “Horton Hears A Who”), Corri English (“Unrest,” “The Bedford Diaries,” lead singer of Brokedown Cadillac), Dee Snider (Twisted Sister, “Strangeland,” radio/television personality), and Oderus Urungus (Alien lead singer from legendary heavy metal band GWAR).

“We’ve been overjoyed by the audience’s response and reactions to the show,” says “Holliston” creator and star Adam Green.  ”It’s amazing to watch the characters be embraced so quickly and to see fans quoting it on Twitter, Facebook and at conventions around the country.  There is something truly special happening with ‘Holliston’ and the way that it has been received by fans.”

The first season of “Holliston” premiered on April 3, 2012 and airs its third episode this Tuesday night, April 17, 2012 at 10:30 p.m ET alongside fan favorite “Todd & The Book of Pure Evil” as part of FEARnet’s “Twisted Comedy Block.” Rich with outstanding guest appearances, this week’s “Holliston” includes Brian Posehn (“The Sarah Silverman Show”), Derek Mears (“Friday The 13th” – 2009, “Predators”), and Colton Dunn (“Parks and Recreation”, “Hatchet 2”). Other guest stars to watch for this season include: Tony Todd (“Candyman,” “The Rock”), John Landis (“An American Werewolf in London,” “Animal House”) and Kane Hodder (“Friday The 13th,” “Frozen”).
