Dennis Miller Books Amne$ia Gig

NBC has named five-time Emmy Award-winning comedian and popular talk show host Dennis Miller ("Dennis Miller Live") as host of NBC's upcoming comedy quiz show, "Amne$ia," from Mark Burnett Productions, the producers of "Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader?"

The announcement was made today by Craig Plestis, Executive Vice President, Alternative Programming, Development and Specials, NBC Entertainment.

"Not only is Dennis an exceptionally talented comedian, he's quick on his feet and has a great way of bringing out the comedic elements in this hilarious new game show," said Plestis.

Miller said, "I wasn't looking to host another game show but when they brought me…uh…uh…uh…what's the name of the show again? Oh yeah, 'Amnesia,' I got excited because I immediately realized it's a comedy first that just happens to be wrapped in a game show package and that allows me to be who I am."

Miller can currently be heard on his nationally syndicated radio talk show, "The Dennis Miller Show," five days a week. He is a five-time Emmy award winner for his critically- acclaimed half-hour, live talk show "Dennis Miller Live" which had a nine-year run on HBO. He also wrote and starred in the Emmy-nominated cable comedy special "Raw Feed," his sixth such special. He was also the host and executive producer of CNBC's "Dennis Miller," a topical interview talk show featuring reasoned discourse, opinion and humor. Additionally, Miller has appeared on many politically oriented television talk shows, and has acted in several feature films including "Disclosure" and "The Net."

"Amne$ia" is a high-energy, original comedy game show where contestants are challenged to answer a variety of questions from their own life for money and prizes. Memories will be tested and blasts from the past will be revealed as contestants wrack their brains to answer some of the most challenging questions – often times with hilarious results.

"Amne$ia" is produced by Mark Burnett Productions. Mark Burnett, Roy Bank, Adam Cohen, Cara Tapper and Joanna Vernetti serve as executive producers.
