Dante’s Inferno Gates of Hell Demo Now Available for PS3

Attention PlayStation 3 owners: Satan will see you now! And thank you for waiting! Electronic Arts and Visceral Games are happy to announce that “Gates of Hell,” the playable demo for the upcoming Dante’s Inferno, is now available as a free download on the PlayStation Network today. Xbox 360 players, you’ll have to wait a little bit longer for your trip to the burning pits of Hell (which you can take as a judgment on your platform of choice if you like, or not). The Xbox LIVE demo will be out on December 24, 2009, just in time for some holiday fun with the family, as long as your family is all over 17 and likes killing things.

EA also announced today the Dante’s Inferno “Divine Edition” exclusive for PlayStation 3, available at the game’s standard retail price, which, along with the game, comes with developer commentaries, a Wayne Barlowe digital art book, the soundtrack to the game, and a digital version of the complete Longfellow translation of Dante Alighiere’s Inferno, the 14th century poem on which the game is based. Will XBox 360 players get a similarly cool deal? Or did Sony make an exclusive deal with the devil here? Only Satan knows for sure.

Dante’s Inferno will be released for the PS3, Xbox 360, and PSP on February 9, 2010 in North America and is rated M for Mature by the ESRB. For more information on the game, follow the Dante’s Inferno team on Twitter, and visit the game’s Official Website.
