Comedy Central Renews TOSH.0

Daniel Tosh will continue with deliciously twisted abandon to take on infinite offerings of the Internet as COMEDY CENTRAL orders a fourth season of the weekly hit series “Tosh.0,” it was announced today by Kent Alterman, head of original programming and production COMEDY CENTRAL.  The fourth season of “Tosh.0” will consist of 26 episodes and premiere in January 2012.

Currently in its third season with new episodes airing Tuesday nights at 10:00 p.m. ET/PT, “Tosh.0” ranks as the #1 show on all of television on Tuesday nights among Men 18-34 and Men 18-24 and is a break-out ratings success for COMEDY CENTRAL, averaging 4.2 million total viewers and a 2.9 Adult 18-49 rating during its current season, making it the most-watched and highest-rated series on COMEDY CENTRAL.  (source: Nielsen Media Research, most current data, 1/11/11-6/7/11, original telecasts only)

Said Alterman, “Daniel is still trying to figure out what his show is and we thought it would only be right to give him another season to work it out, especially since so many millions of people are watching it.”

Said Tosh, “Thanks guys.”

The uber-popular “Tosh.0” blog operates 24/7/365 and is one of COMEDY CENTRAL’s most-visited properties.  The multi-platform site provides rich digital content such as updated daily blog posts, web-exclusive behind-the-scenes and interactive features, including the “Tosh.0 College Campus Invasion,” Tosh’s most recent call-to-action to his fans, asking students to submit videos to convince him that theirs is the lucky campus that he should travel to and tape a live episode of the show.  Fans can also follow Tosh on Twitter (currently with 2.3 million followers) as he live tweets during the show and also by becoming a fan of “Tosh.0” on Facebook (currently at 5.5 million fans).

“Tosh.0” premiered on June 4, 2009 and features the razor-sharp humor and biting commentary from comedian Daniel Tosh and delves into all aspects of the Internet from the absolutely absurd to the incredibly ingenious in this weekly, topical series.  Tosh continues to give subjects of notorious viral videos (i.e. Boom Goes The Dynamite; Naked Wizard) a second chance to redeem themselves from the embarrassment with which they have become synonymous with their very own “Web Redemption.”

“Tosh.0” is executive produced by Tosh, Charlie Siskel and Christie Smith.  Gary Mann is the executive in charge of production for COMEDY CENTRAL.
