Chris Hardwick To Host Streamy Awards

dick clark productions, inc. and Tubefilter announced today that actor and comedian Chris Hardwick will host  the 3rd Annual Streamy Awards, honoring excellence in original online video programming and those who create it.

As creator of The Nerdist, a podcast, website and BBC America TV series, Chris Hardwick has become the leading authority on nerd culture. Currently, he is hosting AMC’s first live after-show Talking Dead, following the highly-rated zombie drama Walking Dead.  Hardwick is also a contributing writer for Wired magazine, in addition to being an established stand-up comic with nearly 15 years of experience. Hardwick first gained popularity as the co-host of MTV’s hit dating show Singled Out.

“Don’t tell television, but there is some SUPERIOR programming being made on the Interwebz,” stated Chris Hardwick.  “I am honored to help give the Web community, many of whom are my friends, the accolades they deserve.  Also, the show is going to be breezy and fun.  I think the Streamys could be a new Tonys! DO YOU HEAR ME NPH?!”

Streamy Awards Executive Producer Barry Adelman and Producer Assaf Blecher jointly stated, “Chris Hardwick’s proven hosting abilities and comedic talent make him an ideal fit to host this year’s show. Being such an influential force in pop culture and a powerful online presence, he truly resonates with our audience.”
