Sam Huntington began his career on stage at the age of nine at the prestigious Peterborough Players in Peterborough, NH (the town where he was born), where he performed for over four seasons in such roles as Jem in “To Kill a Mockingbird,” opposite James Rebhorn. At age 13, over a 10 month period spent in New York attending the Professional Children’s School, he performed in commercials and three films, including Disney’s “Jungle 2 Jungle,” starring opposite Tim Allen and Martin Short.
In 1998, he co-starred as Jeremiah (“Jam”) Bruce in “Detroit Rock City.” One semester into his freshman year at Hampshire College in Amherst, MA, Sam was cast in “Not Another Teen Movie.” He also appeared in “Rolling Kansas,” directed by Thomas Hayden Church, and starred in the comedy, “Freshman Year,” opposite “Cavemen” cast mate Kaitlin Doubleday.
Sam went on to play a recurring role on the series “Veronica Mars” and most recently starred as Jimmy Olsen in 2006’s “Superman Returns.” He recently wrapped production on “Fanboys,” in which he plays the lead role of Eric, a car salesman who drives across the country with his three buddies to honor the wish of their dying friend: to watch “Star Wars: Episode I — The Phantom Menace” at George Lucas’ Skywalker Ranch before the movie’s worldwide release.
Sam is now tackling the writing world, writing a screenplay entitled “The Mistake” for Ben Stiller’s production company, Red Hour, and DreamWorks.
Sam resides in the Los Angeles area with his wife, Rachel, and their dog, Emma. In his spare time, he enjoys snowboarding, golf and ice hockey.
