The Call of Duty® World League (CWL) is the official esports league developed around the Call of Duty video game franchise. CWL formally launched in December 2015 and is now into its third season.
This season, professional players from around the world compete in Call of Duty®: WWII on PlayStation®4 for a total season prize pool of $4.2 million and ambitions to be crowned Call of Duty World League Champions. A total of 32 teams from North America, Europe, and the Asia-Pacific region will visit Columbus, Ohio, for a five-day tournament to determine the world’s best Call of Duty esports team.
On August 15-16, the first phase of the 2018 Call of Duty World League Championship begins with the Group Stage, broadcast live from the MLG Arena in Columbus, Ohio.
From August 17-19, the remaining sixteen teams will move to the Nationwide Arena where thousands of Call of Duty Esports fans will watch teams compete for the lion’s share of a $1.5 million event prize pool and the honor of being named the 2018 Call of Duty World League Champion.
