Brooklyn Bridge Park Movies With A View Details

Syfy will be imagining greater under the summer stars when it teams with the Brooklyn Bridge Park Conservancy and Time Out New York, along with the Brooklyn Bridge Park Development Corporation to host America’s first ever outdoor RealD 3D movie screening on Thursday, July 15, presenting the box office smash Monsters vs Aliens during the popular Movies with a View film series in Brooklyn Bridge Park.

The July 15 screening will kick off with a special outdoor premiere of Syfy’s brand film House of Imagination, featuring on-air talent from Syfy series such as Warehouse 13, Eureka, Stargate Universe, Ghost Hunters, Destination Truth and Sanctuary.

This marks the third consecutive year Syfy has been the presenting sponsor of Movies with a View’, making it possible for the Brooklyn Bridge Park Conservancy to continue to bring the beloved annual series to New Yorkers. In addition to the outdoor film screenings, each week, the channel will set up a tent at the Brooklyn Bridge Park’s Pier 1, offering weekly raffles, giveaways and popcorn. Along with special services like bike valet parking by Transportation Alternatives, the channel will provide a telescope station for those movie fans who want to look at stars everywhere.

Time Out New York’s July 7 issue will mark its first-ever edition in 3D, with each issue including a pair of Syfy-branded 3D glasses.  The 3D glasses in the issue will allow viewers to view the cover, feature story and most advertisements in 3D.  Time Out New York is widely regarded as a publication that has its finger on the pulse of all things entertainment, and the collaboration with Syfy and Movies With a View was timed perfectly to coincide with the opening of the new Brooklyn Bridge Park. Time Out New York is always looking for ways to creatively engage readers, and with the recent buzz surrounding 3-D concepts, a 3-D issue was all too appropriate.

Featuring films beginning at sunset every Thursday in July and August, Movies with a View reaches more than 25,000 people each summer.
