If you can’t get to Bakersfield, bring Bakersfield to you! Today, FX celebrated the series finale of its critically-acclaimed comedy Baskets. Cast and producers including Jonathan Krisel (executive producer/showrunner), Emmy® nominee Zach Galifianakis (executive producer/“Chip Baskets”/“Dale Baskets”), Emmy® winner Louie Anderson (“Christine Baskets”), Martha Kelly (“Martha Brooks”) and Alex Morris (“Ken Daniels”/“The Carpet King”) gathered together in Hollywood to celebrate the show’s four remarkable seasons on FX.

Highlights from the event included:

  • Upon entry, guests were offered a selection of Arby’s sandwiches. (In the series, the restaurant has served as a place of employment for Chip, a meeting spot for the family and home to a very nontraditional Thanksgiving dinner.)
  • Inside the party, Costco-style stations gave away samples of smoothies, popcorn, string cheese, trail mix, grape leaves and chicken apple sausage.
  • Spinning top hits was a French-clown-dressed DJ (er, “cloon” for the initiated).

In season four, big changes were underway for the Baskets family. After 49 years, Chip (Zach Galifianakis) decided it was finally time to move out of his mom’s place. But even with the help of Martha (Martha Kelly) and a life coach, he learned that leaving the nest is hard, to say the least. Christine (Louie Anderson) and Ken (Alex Morris) moved into a new place they called their own, but carpet emergencies and missing kitchen magnets made the transition rockier than expected. And Dale (Zach Galifianakis) found kindred spirits with his fellow inhabitants at the RV park.

From watching Chip evolve from a failed French clown to a rodeo CEO, the blossoming of Christine and Ken’s long-distance relationship into a marriage, and Martha’s transformation from timid to confident and cast-less, we sincerely thank you for rooting for the Baskets family!
