Victoria, a Yale University student from New Haven, Connecticut, was the third girl eliminated during the ninth cycle of The CW's hit reality series “America's Next Top Model,” reducing the pool from 11 girls to 10.
At the legendary Ken Paves Salon, Tyra, Jay Manuel, and Miss J revealed the makeover transformations to the girls. Almost all of the girls felt confident about their new model looks, and even Victoria admitted that she was surprised to feel so great after her makeover.
The next day, Nigel Barker along with his wife, professional make-up artist Kristen Barker, and CoverGirl representative Brent Poer presented the girls with the CoverGirl Make-up Mirror challenge. As part of the challenge, they were given five minutes to apply make-up and locate an outfit amongst racks of clothes before stepping onto the runway in front of the three judges. Victoria felt self-conscious about her lack of make-up knowledge compared to the other girls and found it difficult to pull together a complete CoverGirl look.
During judging panel, the judges again commented on Victoria's lack of charisma when addressing the panel. “Despite the fact that she is smart, she is not wise,” Nigel said. “The judges love your look, they think it's atypical, but the girl who walks into this (judging) room is not very appetizing,” Tyra said before eliminating Victoria from the race to become “America's Next Top Model.”
In addition to a $100,000 contract with cosmetics giant CoverGirl, this year's prize package for the winner of The CW's “America's Next Top Model” will include a contract with Elite Model Management and a cover and six-page fashion spread in Seventeen magazine.
