The premiere of HBO’s newest comedy series Hung, with 2.8 million viewers, was the network's highest series debut in over two years, since John From Cincinnati followed the series finale of The Sopranos on 6/10/07. Combined with its Midnight replay, Hung attracted 3.7 viewers for the night.
True Blood reached a new series high delivering 3.7 million viewers for the 9PM premiere telecast. For the night (9PM + 11PM replay), True Blood delivered 5.1 million viewers. Hung held an impressive 76% of True Blood’s 9PM audience.
Currently, True Blood is averaging a gross audience of over 10.8 million viewers per episode (linear network airings, HBO On Demand and DVR), outperforming its first season average by 38%.
