Cast members from the critically acclaimed series “The Shield,” including Catherine Dent, Kenny Johnson, David Marciano, Benito Martinez, Cathy Cahlin Ryan and David Rees Snell, will reunite for an upcoming episode of LIE TO ME airing this spring on FOX. LIE TO ME is executive-produced by Shawn Ryan, who won an Emmy for Outstanding Writing for a Drama Series on “The Shield.”

FOX has renewed LIE TO ME – one of the season’s top new series among Adults 18-49 – for a second season, it was announced today by Kevin Reilly, President, Entertainment for Fox Broadcasting Company. In addition, Shawn Ryan, creator and executive producer of “The Shield,” joins the series as an executive producer and show-runner.

Mekhi Phifer is set to guest-star on LIE TO ME in a two-episode arc starting Wednesday, May 6 (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX. Phifer, who begins production today, will play Ben Reynolds, an FBI agent who partners with Lightman to track down a serial rapist terrorizing the Washington, DC area. In the season’s second to last episode, Reynolds, having spent the last six months pursuing the elusive criminal, assists The Lightman Group in solving their toughest case yet.

Jennifer Beals is set to guest-star on LIE TO ME as Zoe Landau, Lightman’s (Tim Roth) ex-wife and Emily’s (Hayley McFarland) mother. When Landau, an Assistant U.S. Attorney, hires The Lightman Group to assist with an arson case, it quickly becomes clear that she and Lightman still have feelings for each other. Beals’ multi-episode arc begins Wednesday, April 29 (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX.
